Garfish are also called crocodile gar or crocodile fish. This is due to the shape of the mouth, which opens up like crocodiles. They are a predator fish, and watching garfish catch and eat its prey is more entertaining than other predator fish. While most predator fish swallows their prey quickly, garfish holds their prey in their crocodile mouth before slowly adjusting it and swallowing it down their mouth. Unfortunately, they ultimately grow to big for home aquariums.
