Soon Hock

Soon Hock aka Marbled Goby

Soon Hock is a beautiful fish which is widely eaten in seafood restaurants. However, this fish has very attractive patterns and definately looks good in a home aquarium. To bring out it's beauty, the soon hock should not be kept in a bare bottom tank which will cause its markings to fade to a pale shade. It is best kept in a tank with a substrate like sand and rocks that it can perch on. When stable, its stripes darken distinctly and beautifully.

The soon hock is an ambush feeder, attacking feeder fish and shrimps when they venture too near. They are solidatory in nature and will also attack their own species.
